How are College fees determined?

College fees are set each year as part of the budgeting process, with emphasis placed on limiting the level of fee increase, whilst ensuring the College remains financially sustainable.

When will the fee be payable?

The Annual Trainee Member / SIMG Member Fee will be payable at the latest by the 15th of May.

Will I still be required to submit an AVT?

Yes, trainees and SIMGs will still need to submit an Approval of Vocational Training (AVT). For training time to be recognised, all trainees are required to submit an AVT form prior to commencement of all terms. The College uses the AVT form to determine whether certain training positions are appropriate for accreditation.

Can I apply for more than one concession?

No, a concession will only be granted under one category.

Is there a discount for trainees undertaking dual training?

Yes, completing training as part of another college’s training program is now considered an interruption to training, which may result in a fee concession.

Am I entitled to a discount if I change my FTE part way through the year?

Trainees undertaking a minimum 6 months part-time training of 0.4 to 0.5 full-time equivalent (FTE) are entitled to apply for a discount. This includes trainees who change their FTE part way through the year. Applications will only be considered if a trainee has submitted an AVT for the second 6 months.

Example:

A trainee undertaking 6 months of full-time training (1.0 FTE) but then switches to part-time training (between 0.4 to 0.5 FTE) in the second half of the year is entitled to apply for a 50% discount on their fees.

I am a new trainee; do I still need to pay the Annual Trainee Member Fee?

Yes, trainees accepted onto the training program will be required to pay the full Annual Trainee Member Fee. The Trainee Registration Fee covers the cost of processing your application by College staff and the Trainee Selection Panel. The Annual Trainee Member Fee covers the cost of:

  • Administrative support
  • Supervision and assessment
  • Resources (including the Access to CICM via ANZCA Library and online courses)

Refer to the Fee Breakdown page for information about how your fees are spent.

Do I get a refund if I am admitted as a CICM Fellow part way through the year?

Trainees or SIMGs who pay the full Annual Trainee / SIMG Member Fee in the same year as their Admission to Fellowship with have the Fellowship Subscription Fee waived. As such, trainees and SIMGs who are admitted as a Fellow of the College will not be offered a refund on their Annual Trainee / SIMG Member Fee.

How do I withdraw from the CICM programme?

Please complete the Withdrawal Form. Once confirmation is received, your records will be withdrawn and if you choose to re-join CICM training at a later date it would be subject to the College Regulations and policies applicable at that time.
