The IRTP-STP initiative is to increase the rural and regional training opportunities within ASGS RA2-5 areas by identifying trainees who are genuinely committed to peruse a medical career in rural areas. IRTP-STP funds will be linked to an individual trainee and funding will enable participating trainee to complete a minimum of two-thirds (minimum four years) of their total Fellowship training within a rural and regional area within ASGS RA2-5.
IRTP-STP position eligibility
Trainees who are on secondment from another country or employed by a hospital that is not within Australia are not eligible for IRTP-STP positions.
IRTP-STP post will be allocated with $150,000 (GST Exclusive) per annum / per FTE. This amount is inclusive of salary support, assistance with travel and accommodation similar to rural loading. Funding approved for three years from 2018-2020.
