All trainees who registered after 1 January 2014 are required to complete face to face courses in the seven areas listed below. If you are currently running a course in one of the areas listed and would like to have it assessed by the Education Committee, please complete the form below.
The Education Committee will review courses against the T-43 Face to face course quality assurance checklist (PDF) to determine suitability for approval as part of the College training program.
The Communications Course is a mandatory two-day program specifically designed to provide currently registered CICM trainees with the skills required to communicate effectively with patients, families and colleagues in the ICU setting. The program includes planning and conducting family meetings, negotiating effectively with colleagues and maintaining respectful communication under pressure. Each day includes interactive role plays with professional actors.
