

Candidates for the CICM Primary Examination must have completed at least 12 months General Hospital Experience and be registered trainees. Candidates may present for the Primary Examination prior to commencing approved training and at any time during Basic Training.
The subject areas for the Primary Examination are set out in the Syllabus for the Basic Sciences in Intensive Care Medicine. The examination is held twice a year and it comprises of a written and oral section.
The new T-04 Syllabus for Basic Sciences in Intensive Care Medicine - UPDATED 2011 will be applicable for the second half of 2012.
The written section may be taken in cities of Australia and New Zealand or other areas at the discretion of the Board. The oral section will be held in various major cities at the discretion of the Board.
Applications for the Primary Examination must be received by the College before the advertised closing date.

If a candidate withdraws after the closing date they will incur an administration charge of 30% of the examination fee.
