The Harkness Fellowship in Health Care Policy and Practice
Imogen Mitchell FCICM
As an intensive care specialist and even more so as a director, one is able to get a bird’s eye view of hospital systems in all their glory. I had not been to a patient safety conference before and it was mind blowing to see what other healthcare organisations were managing to achieve around the world, including the United States. A chance meeting with Dr Brian Robson, Executive Clinical Director, Healthcare Improvement Scotland pointed me in the direction of a Harkness Fellowship. “A what?” you may ask.

Hospital Accreditation
Expressions of Interest  for Trainee Representatives
The College is seeking expressions of interest from senior registrars who wish to be involved in hospital accreditation inspections. Being part of an accreditation team provides a great learning opportunity for trainees and provides insight into how other units and hospitals operate.
To register your interest, please contact Natasha Wilson, natashaw@cicm.org.au.
