The College approved the formation of the Retrieval Medicine Special Interest Group in 2014. The group provides a formal way for Fellows who have involvement in retrieval medicine to have a structure for dealing with advice and standards. The aim of the group is to form close ties with both ANZCA and ACEM.

The formation of the Critical Care Ultrasonography Special Interest Group was approved by the Board in 2015. The group were formed to provide advice to the Board on matters relating to echocardiography, develop educational material and CPD opportunities for Fellows and trainees in addition to reviewing documents at the request of the Board. The group is chaired by NSW Fellow, Konstantin Yastrebov and a number of sub-groups have been formed;
